フランス在住の画家・田中麻記子の2冊目となる作品集は、パリのさまざまな風景や人物と、彼女が学生時代から親しんできたフランス文化の残像が、ときに現実的に、ときに幻想的に、キュートでダイナミックに展開されます。
近年では、資生堂「花椿」ウエブにてアニメーションを展開したり、『朝日新聞』「歌壇・俳壇」の挿絵を担当するなど、シンプルな線を用いて、あえて「イラストレーション」と呼ばれる表現をすることも多く、また、セラミックによる立体作品を発表するなど、その探究心は広がり続けています。
水彩画、鉛筆画、パステル画、セラミックなど、マテリアルの領域を超え、現実と幻想の狭間から溢れ出るイマジネーションが、表情豊かにゴージャスな装いの一冊となりました。

田中麻記子
1975年東京生まれ、現在フランス在住。
2013年文化庁派遣在外研修員として渡仏。第12回 岡本太郎芸術賞に入選。これまでに国内外での展覧会多数。

France-based painter Makiko Tanaka often uses people and landscapes of Paris, with hints of French culture, as a motif of her works, which are however portrayed as realistic but visionary, cute but dynamic imaginative figures.
Her recent publications of animations on the Shiseido “Hanatsubaki” Web and illustrations for “Kadan Haidan” on the Asahi Shimbun have gained recognitions, where we can see ambitious exploration of the painter, extended her treatment from simple drawings/illustrations to works with various materials and forms.
Vu Vu is the 2nd book of the artist covering wide-ranging expressive works from watercolors, drawings, pastels to ceramics, bound resplendently and gorgeously.

Makiko Tanaka
Born in 1975, Tokyo. Lives and works in France.
Recipient of the 2013 Government from the Ministry of The Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Nominated for the 12th Taro Okamoto Award.
Has held many exhibitions in Japan and abroad.
Published an art book La collection gastronomique in 2016 by HeHe.
